There is something pernicious in society that is causing men to lose their manhood and causing women to become more like men and men to act like women. The role reversal is a disaster in couples and many couples can’t stay together if they do not follow their God-appointed role in the family. It results in resentment and loss of self respect. Maybe not right away, but eventually. Many women have a hard time understanding how hard it is to do a 9-to-5 or 60 hour work week, unless they’ve done that kind of work. Both partners need to have empathy because caregiving is a mind numbing experience also. It’s a relentless series of demands on your body and mind to meet every physical, mental, emotional need of kids. I thought my corporate job was hard, but nothing prepared me for how hard it is to raise children in America with proper adab. You need to have good companions with the same aakirah goals, otherwise you’ll be sucked into the American culture of disrespect and confusion.
Definitely agree with you, especially the point on following Gods appointed roles in the family. As a society we’ve strayed away from this which is causing so many problems in my opinion. May Allah make it easy for us all. Ameen
I highly recommend reading Dr. Leonard Sax. He’s a clinician and has written a number of books on the topic of American culture and kids and the role that mothers and fathers play in the family.
I have not heard of Sax before but will look into it iA. The book that was mentioned in the comment was “Futuwwah, and Raising Males Into Sacred Manhood” by Imam Dawud Walid.
Oh I’m reading something similar on Sufi chivalry, heard good things about that book. How schools and corporate work is set up is against the fitra of a human being esp men. I worked in a corporation where everyone at exec level was male and 95 of the company was female. Overly collaborative, meetings for no reason, no decision making; it wasn’t gendered to be like that but that’s just what happened over time
Ah that sounds very interesting. Which book is it? I will add it to my ever growing list haha. Wow that’s a weird structure to have in a company. But tbh it is becoming more common nowadays if you think about it

I recently read the book and was amazed. A lot of great gems within it and a must read for every man in today's world. Ameen!!!
Wait you read Sax’s book or you read something else? He’s written 6 books. I also wonder how social media is messing up people’s fitra.
